Hacking - Crafting


Hacking-crafting as one word shows action and interaction, of hacking into crafting and vice-versa. It describes the skills and knowledge that we already have and that we are building collectively. Two concepts that at the beginning we thought could be opposed, however, are complementary.

Collective Thinking Machine helps us as weavers to connect apparent but potentially complementary opposites on many levels. Digital technology and ancestral practices; crafting and hacking; clay and code. I have been examining how we can engage with our contemporary technologies not only for production purposes. What if the intimacy with the hacked clay 3d printer could advance the remembering of our ancestral technologies.
